Wine Enthusiast included in its annual guide of Best Values, the 120 Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2016, highlighting it as “one of the most exciting and affordable wines” reviewed during the year.

October, 2017.- Wine Enthusiast, one of the world’s leading wine magazines, recently revealed it Top 100 Best Buys of 2017, after tasting more than 1,450 wines that obtained the designation this year. To be considered in this ranking, all wines must meet two attributes: to be priced at US$15 or less, and to have a high quality-to-price ratio.

And Santa Rita’s 120 Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2016 made it in the 55th position this year. With 87 points awarded and at US$6, the editor Michael Schachner pointed out: “No, this is not a misprint. This $6 Chardonnay is a quaffer’s dream. Aromas of apple and pear are clean and pleasant. On the palate, this feels round and balanced. Slightly salty apple flavors are steady on the finish.”

This 120 Chardonnay combines grapes from different vineyards from the central zone to obtain a fruity, elegant wine. The coastal zones that have greater influence from the Pacific Ocean give a fresh, citrus character, while the area closer to the Andes lends tropical fruit notes and a lush mouthfeel. The result is a nicely balanced, greenish-yellow wine that is well rounded and very refreshing.

From South America, other three Chilean wines were included in the list, as well as four Argentinean. The US displayed the most examples, with 31 wines, while France and Italy presented 13 and 7 wines respectively.
