Blooming Success – Santa Rita wins Gold At Bord Bia’s Bloom-in-the-Park
Viña Santa Rita, the number #1 selling wine brand in Ireland, is once again celebrating success after scooping a Gold Medal for their ‘Living Oasis’ by Santa Rita ‘Living La Vida 120’ Show Garden at Bord Bia’s 2017 Bloom-in-the-Park, held at Phoenix Park Dublin, Ireland 1st – 5th June.

Cityscape Gardener Kevin Dennis, the designer who masterminded and delivered the Santa Rita winning show garden explained:

‘The garden was created to demonstrate how an oasis of calm can be achieved in the hectic lifestyle of urban living. The ‘Living Oasis’ by Santa Rita ‘Living La Vida 120”’ garden celebrates how outdoor spaces should be cherished and how they can make peoples moments special.

The garden has an exotic look with a primitive feel and is a space to escape and retreat to. It promotes personal space within an area in which to unwind, creating that oasis moment that we look for in our lives found through the medium of plants, water and the angulur lines of contemporary design.

A clean crisp pavilion at the heart of the oasis garden is a restful space where the visitor can sit and escape reality while enjoying plants layered throughout the garden. Vines cascade downwards from the contemporary floating planter to create a hanging green wall and submerse the visitor in plant life.

This is the third consecutive year Santa Rita has participated at Bloom, and the second year that their Living La Vida 120 Garden has achieved a much sought after Gold medal for their show garden design. With over 100,000 paying visitors expected to visit the show gardens over the next five days, the Santa Rita Garden has become a major stopping point for enthusiasts and general public alike. Highlighting the enjoyment of Santa Rita 120 in a relaxed environment as well as communicating the strong values of the company to sustainability, culture and heritage, the Living La Vida 120 Garden stimulates many conversations amongst visitors.

New to the garden for 2017 is a “VIP Tasting area” where 120 visitors to the show can win the opportunity to participate in a personalised Santa Rita 120 tasting session in a bespoke container overlooking the garden.

Terry Pennington, Commercial Director, Europe comments
‘Our horticultural link goes back to the Santa Rita estate in Alto Jahuel, Chile where our beautiful Casa Real manor house and 40 hectare park is found. The house, after which our legendary award winning wine Casa Real is labelled, is surrounded by wonderful ornate gardens and parklands which are regularly opened up to the public, schools and local communities. Santa Rita is steeped in tradition both in terms of their garden and viticultural history, their contemporary and progressive approach to winemaking is reflected in both the outstanding wines they produce and the modern approach to the ‘Santa Rita Living la Vida’ garden. Kevin has done a fantastic job this year and we are all very proud of his achievements’.
