The new vintage of Viña Santa Rita’s flagship wine was praised for its depth, freshness, and elegance, reaffirming the exceptional character of Alto Maipo’s Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine Enthusiast, one of the world’s most influential wine publications, recently announced a new accolade for Casa Real 2022: 95 points and the Editor’s Choice distinction. This recognition is reserved for outstanding wines that stand out for their quality, character, and consistency within their category. Casa Real was one of only two Chilean wines selected for this honor, reinforcing its position among the great Cabernet Sauvignons of the region.

Jessica Vargas, Wine Enthusiast’s South America writer, described it as follows: “Crafted from old vineyards in the Maipo Valley, this Cabernet shows depth and a vibrant character. Aromas of crushed black pepper and licorice shape the nose. As the wine opens up, layers of dark fruit, sage, black pepper and nutmeg unfold on the silky and fresh palate. It has good concentration and well-integrated tannins.”

Produced only in exceptional vintages, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from old vines planted over 60 years ago in the heart of Alto Jahuel, in the Maipo Valley—one of the most renowned terroirs in the world for this variety.
